Board of Directors

The Board of Directors began collaborating to start Konekte Haiti in 2017 because they share a vision of the potential for more Haitians to earn a livable wage by participating in the global economy.

Steve Asper

Steve is the Technology Support Manager for White Bear Lake Area Schools, in White Bear Lake, MN.  In that role, he strives to implement best practice and a focus on the 4 C’s for technology use with students and teachers.  Steve taught third grade at L’Etoile du Nord French Immersion School and has taught both Norwegian and French for over 25 years at Concordia Language Villages.  He is also the Chief Information Officer for Kozefò, a small nonprofit organization that serves A New Arrival Center Primary School in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He is a Google Certified Educator and Admin.  His passions for Education, Technology, Children, Languages and Service help.

FabiolaSempeur

Fabiola Sempeur

Fabiola is a Registered Nurse (RN-BSN) who has worked at Orlando Health in Orlando, FL. for about five years. Previously, she studied Psychology at Faculte des Sciences Humaines (FASCH) in Haiti. She is very passionate about technology and helping others. Fabiola is currently one of the Public Relationships members of Brothers Keepers of Haiti, a non-profit organization that is supporting couples hospitals and an after-school program for children in Jacmel, located in the Southeast of Haiti. Growing up in Haiti taught Fabiola that hard work and education are sometimes the only things a person can do to thrive, and she hopes to help the next generation of Haiti’s children to reach their highest potential. She is a well-rounded individual who lives with passion, dedication, grace, and eagerness to serve.

Jude Plaisir

Jude is a entrepreneur and IT infrastructure expert. He currently works in Florida for doing IT tech support for the Orlando Public School system. Born and raised in Haiti, he frequently travels there to visit family as well as work on his entrepreneurial pursuits in Haiti.

Evelyn McCulloch

Evelyn is an Innovation Coach and Grades 5-6 Educator in a Maker Space at Park Maitland School in Orlando, FL. She is also a Digital Learning Strategist for i-Tech Support, Inc., with expertise implementing G Suite in schools as a Google for Education Certified Trainer. She brings eight years experience as an educator and teacher leader in local and global classrooms, serving students at the International School of Beijing prior to moving to Florida. Evelyn is passionate about utilizing technology in teaching and learning to help students make their thinking visible to solve problems  and to connect them locally and globally for partnerships. 
 

 

 

Katrina Mezera

Katrina is the Digital Learning and Data Manager for Bloomington Public Schools in Bloomington, MN.  In that role, she supports teachers in applying technology to learning to encourage positive outcomes for all students.   She also works on developing systems that turn data into information so that students, teachers, and families have the information they need when they need it in order to make decisions for the benefit of their students.  She came to this role after almost 10 years as a middle school math teacher in Minnesota and Wisconsin.  She first visited Haiti in October 2017 and was inspired by the students and teachers she met there.  Upon arriving back home after her trip, she joined Konekte Hait to apply her belief that technology has the powerful potential to connect people to each other and to connect people to new opportunities.
